FOOD NETWORK WALES HOSTS CONTAMINATION OF FOOD CONFERENCE IN CONJUNCTION WITH UKAFP

CONTAMINATION OF FOOD IN ASSOCIATION WITH UKAFP & THE FOOD NETWORK WALES GROUP

The Food Network Wales and UKAFP played host to a conference on Contamination in Food on May 24th. Speakers delivered presentations on a wide range of issues, including the Irish Dioxon Crisis, Radiological Safety, Allergen Contamination, Metal Contamination and Future Risks in Food Microbiology. Lock Inspection Systems was invited to deliver a presentation on the management and prevention of metal contamination in food production.

Food Network Wales is a collaboration of three food centres, The Food Technology Centre, Food Centre Wales and the Food Industry Centre at UWIC. Supported by the Welsh Assembly Government, the network aims to develop food producers businesses and the agri-food sector, offering technical and practical support on all aspects of food production from farm to fork

Each centre has specific expertise with access to many food technology experts being available. Lock is an enthusiastic supporter of the initiative, having recenty established a partnership with UWIC.
